Narendra Modi is an Indian politician serving as the 14th and current Prime Minister of India since 2014. He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014, and is the Member of Parliament for Varanasi.
He is the current Prime Minister of India and is also one of the best candidates for the post of prime minister in the upcoming 2019 elections in Lok Sabha, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
1] Early Life & Personal Life
Narendra Damodardas Modi was born into a family of grocers in the city of Vadnagar, Mehsana District, Gujarat. He was born on September 17, 1950, in Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Heeraben Modi. The couple had six children, of whom Narendra Modi was the third oldest.
Modi finished his studies against all odds. His saga of struggle began when, as a teenager, he and his brother ran a teapot near a railway station in Ahmedabad. He studied in Vadnagar and obtained a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Gujarat.
One of his teachers described him as an average student but a brilliant debater. During his studies, he worked as a “pracharak” (promoter) of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He left home at the age of 17 and traveled the country for two years.
Subsequently, in the 1990s, when Modi was the official spokesperson for the BJP in New Delhi, he attended a three-month course in the US on public relations and image management.
One of his brothers, Somabhai, is a retired health officer who now runs a retirement home in the city of Ahmedabad. Another of his brothers, Prahlad, an activist on behalf of fair-price shop owners, owns his own fair-price shop in Ahmedabad. His third brother, Pankaj, is employed in the Gandhinagar Information Department.

In 1987, he joined the BJP and entered politics. In just one year, he was elevated to the rank of Secretary General of the BJP Gujarat Unit. At that time, he had already earned the reputation of being an extremely efficient organizer.
Thanks to his work from 1988 to 1995, Shri Narendra Modi is now recognized as a master strategist and has succeeded in acquiring the necessary foundations to make the BJP of Gujarat the ruling party of the state.
Shri Modi at that time was responsible for organizing two important and crucial national events for the BJP: the Somnath at Ayodhya Rath Yatra (a very long march) of Shri L.K. Advani and Kanyakumari in Kashmir in the north (the southern part of India).
These two very successful events run by Shri Modi are considered the reason for the rise of the ruling BJP in New Delhi in 1998. In 1995, Shri Modi (a rare distinction for a young leader) was named national party secretary. and considering the charge of five major states of India.

In 1998, he was promoted to the BJP’s Secretary General (Organization), a position he held until October 2001, when he was selected to head the state of Gujarat as Chief Minister of Gujarat. one of the most prosperous and progressive states in India.
At the time, Narendra Modi entrusted some of the responsibilities of the state- level units that have some and some of the crucial and sensitive states of Kashmir and the Northeast.
He was the only person to take responsibility against the party in the states while working at the national level. In the evening, Narendra Modi is an important person and has starred on special occasions.
During this time he has traveled extensively around the world and has exchanged with renowned leaders from many countries. These experiences not only helped him develop a holistic approach, but also his passion for serving India in the community of nations.
4] Narendra Modi As Prime Minister Of India
May 26, 2014 marked the historic day for India. That day Narendra Modi took his promise as Indian Prime Minister in Rashtrapati Bhavan. He is the first prime minister to be born after the independence of India.
The first cabinet consisted of 45 ministers and in November 2014, 21 new ministers were added to the cabinet. His current cabinet is one of the largest with a force of 78 ministers.
In August 2014, he invited Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana to promote financial inclusion with the aim of creating bank accounts for 150 million families. The demonetization of 500 and 1,000 rupee bills was an anti-corruption measure to reduce black money.
Under the Modi government, India made the biggest 30- point jump ever to reach the 100th position in the “Ease of Doing Business” index. The largest tax reform on the goods and services tax (GST) that India has assisted came into force on July 1, 2017.
Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Mody introduced the idea of “World Yoga Day” in his speech to the UNGA General Assembly on September 27, 2014.
- During the centenary celebration of Shri Poona Gujarati Bandhu Samaj, Narendra Modi was awarded the Gujarat Ratna Prize at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch.
- The Indian IT company awarded him the e-Ratna Award.
- In 2009, FDI magazine awarded him the title of Asian winner of the FDi Personality of the Year Award.
