He was born in Dosanjh Kalan, Jalandhar, Punjab, India, He has done several Punjabi and Hindi movies such as The Lion of Punjab, Jihne Mera Dil Luteya, Jatt & Juliet, Saadi Love Story and many more in Punjabi and Udta Punjab, Phillauri, Welcome to New York and Soorma in Hindi. Diljit Dosanjh was born on 6-January-1984 in Dosanjh Kalan, Jalandhar, Punjab, India. He was born in Punjabi Jat Sikh family. His father name is Balbir Singh Dosanjh and mother name is Sukhwinder Kaur and has an elder sister and a younger brother and He married silently and his wife name is Sandeep Kaur and she is living with her son in the USA. We got it from rumors meanwhile he never shared such personal details publicly.

He spent his childhood in Dosanjh Kalan then he moved to Ludhiana, Punjab, India, There he completed his studies including high school from Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School. While his studies he started performing his singing in local gurdwara’s.

Diljit Dosanjh is the highest paid actor in Punjabi Movies. He started his career from school by singing in local gurdwara’s. Diljit launched his first album Ishq Da Uda Ada in 2004 under Finetone Cassettes label. Rajinder Singh from Finetone Cassettes helped Diljit Dosanjh to make debut in Punjabi Music and suggested Diljit to change his name from Daljit to Diljit. His 2nd album released in 2006 also under Finetone Cassettes label and third album ‘Chocolate’ came in 2008. He released four singles Bhagat Singh, No Tension, Power of Duets and Dance with Me in 2009. In 2010 Diljit released his 6th album name The Next Level with nine tracks. Diljit gives his voice to song ‘Mel Karade Rabba’ for Jimmy Shergill’s featured movie.

In 2011 Diljit made his debut in Punjabi movies with The Lion of Punjab and it was released in February-2011. But this movie goes super flop at the box office but one of a song from that movie got huge success for him. His 2nd movie ‘Jihne Mera Dil Luteya’ in July 2011 featuring Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa got huge success. On 8 August 2013, he released his Proper Patola Single Punjabi song video sung by Diljit Dosanjh and lyrics written by Badshah under Sony Music India label got 28m views on YouTube.

Diljit Dosanjh made collaboration with Honey Singh in 2012 and sung ‘Goliyan’ from part of Honey Singh’s album International Villager. Then he has given his voice first time for Bollywood movie Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’s song “Pee Pa Pee Pa” and also acted in the same song in 2012. Also, he has sang many songs for Punjabi and Hindi movies.

Then in 2016, He made his debut in Bollywood the actor in Udta Punjab which directed by Abhishek Chaubey. Udta Punjab represented Punjab’s current situation like how Punjab trapped in drug substance abuse with co-stars Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Diljit also sung ‘Ik Kudi’ for ‘Udta Punjab’ movie. He also acted in movie name ‘Phillauri’ with co-stars Anushka Sharma and Suraj Sharma, And it was released on 23 March 2017.

Diljit also promotes some brands including Coca-Cola, Company made him a brand ambassador for Punjab region. Flipkart also signed him for their campaign Flipkart Connect. He also brand ambassador for Star Sports Pro Kabbadi with Rana Daggubati and Puneeth Rajkumar for season 4.
